Alex Abramovitz and His Swing'n Kansas City Jazz Band are laser-focused on the swing style of Kansas City's jazz heritage, and celebrate the traditional swing band sound. Even Alex's horn exudes tradition; it's a 1930's pre-war old style Conn trumpet. The band takes inspiration from the era and the phenomenal musicians who developed it, such as Count Basie, Jay McShann, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Coleman Hawkins, Harry James, and many others.
